The development progress of the game is really aligning with what I had in mind, although there's still some shit that I'm figuring out: for example, the aesthetic of specific environments, like the one in the video, where the fog might potentially ruin the clarity of the visuals (I'm 99% sure that I'll remove it from the cemetery). I'm also focusing on understanding technical shit such as timelines and audio management.
Here's some more details:
- Programming: the only "technical" shit remaining to do is part of the inventory management and the options menu (probably? the settings are very barebone, so I might actually not include a "traditional" options menu)
- Characters: the npc models are all finished! I'll show more of them in the next preview!
- Assets: the cemetery is almost done, one of the other levels is about 50% done and the others are like at 10% (thank fuck the low poly style allows to make shit very fast)
- Sound: I'm refining continuosly the OST
- Release date: the game is scheduled for release between mid-June and mid-July, UNLESS a new EEK3 is announced. If they accept the game for the showcase, I will release it on that day then.
- Monetization: it will be available free for a limited period of time, then I plan to sell it for ass-cheap like 99 cents.
- Platform: Itch, then Steam.
